Niel was Lead Mechanical Engineer at RR-IPS Newcastle office until the end of 1999.  He has had an early retirement due to redundancy and will be found chopping wood in his carpentry workshop or researching train systems of the North-East.  Had plans to buy  a vintage motorcycle but his good lady persuaded him otherwise.  Spent a good part of 2004 building a large extension on his house.
