Stuart was a Lead Electrical Draughtsman at RR-IPS.  He was made redundant at the end of February 2000, but started work with Alstom in mid March.  Redundant again in March 2003, he spent the summer tending his garden, before finding work with Gateshead council in the October (reportedly inspecting street lighting & photographing lamp posts).  Can often be found blowing his trumpet on people's doorsteps in his capacity as a band leader within the Salvation Army.
