I was Principal Mechanical Draughtsman at RR-IPS. Jobless at the end of December 1999, I went to Ansty for the 12 week trial period finishing on 28-04-00. After a couple of weeks rest, Ron Smallman got me a 4 week contract (which stretched to 8) with RR-IPS working on the 50MW generator data transfer in Newcastle. Then joined Alstom (on contract) till March 2003. Spent six months at P&G in Longbenton working on their 'Integrated Pilot Plant'. Returned to home soil contracting at Mitsui Babcock on Saltmeadows road, but have now seen the light and converted back to staff.
