Alan was a C & I Engineer in his NEI days. In 1996 he moved into those fancy Motorway signs at Control SysyemsVMS. Massive redundancies in 2003 at VMS (only himself!) caused a move to North Tyneside Council as an Engineering Co-ordinator. He's actually based at Newcastle City Council & monitors the performance of a private company who are replacing and maintaining all the street lights in Newcastle and North Tyneside over the next four years under a PFI.
